Arctera details are based on Arctera’s publicly available documentation as of September 2026 and may not capture all capabilities. Information is reviewed periodically.

When Arctera may be a fit

  • The firm already runs Enterprise Vault and wants to keep years of archived email in the same system.
  • The firm needs the archive deployed on its own servers. Arctera sells an on-premises version, Enterprise Vault Complete.
  • The firm trades bonds or FX on platforms such as Yieldbroker or LSEG FX Advanced Dealing and wants that chat archived by the same vendor. Arctera lists connectors for both.

Mobile messaging through partners

Arctera’s connector list marks WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal, WeChat, and Telegram as partner connectors, available through LeapXpert and Sausalito Labs. Arctera’s own security white paper says it does not build mobile apps for services like Signal or WhatsApp.

For firms using these channels, capture involves a separate mobile communications provider before the messages reach the archive. That can mean an additional vendor relationship, onboarding process, and support path. As of August 2026, Arctera still lists TeleMessage for several of these channels, although TeleMessage services have been suspended since May 2025.

Comma captures WhatsApp, iMessage, and Signal itself, in the same platform that archives and reviews them.

Pricing

Arctera does not publish pricing. Its service description includes 15 GB of pooled storage per user and lists additional charges for storage, data import, and export.

Comma includes every channel in one per-user price, with no storage overages or export fees.

See how capture works

Comma publishes capture code for WhatsApp, Signal, and Android text messaging on GitHub. Compliance teams can inspect the code and see how supported channels are captured before making a purchasing decision.
