Comma Compliance vs. NICE Actimize

Comma Compliance vs. NICE Actimize: side-by-side on architecture, mobile and OTT capture, pricing, and exam readiness for financial-services firms.

NICE Actimize is one of the most recognized enterprise compliance and surveillance platforms, anchored in trade surveillance, anti-money laundering, and financial-crime analytics. If you’re evaluating NICE Actimize alternatives for SEC, FINRA, or off-channel communications recordkeeping, this page compares Comma Compliance and NICE Actimize on architecture, channel coverage, pricing, and exam readiness.

At a Glance

NICE Actimize is strongest in anti-money-laundering and trade surveillance. Its modern mobile and over-the-top messaging coverage is partner-fed and business-identity based: Movius MultiLine for WhatsApp and iMessage on a separate business number, with a roster of recording partners and carriers for mobile voice and SMS. Comma Compliance captures WhatsApp, Signal, and iMessage natively on the numbers employees and clients already use, with capture, archive, supervision, and exam-ready case management in one platform at a flat per-user price.

When NICE Actimize may be a better fit

A Communications Archive on a Financial-Crime Stack

NICE Actimize was built for trade surveillance, anti-money laundering, and financial-crime detection. ARCHIVE-X, the cloud WORM archive most relevant to communications compliance, launched in March 2024; NICE Capture and SURVEIL-X are longer-established products within the same platform. The product investment and the customer momentum are anchored in surveillance and financial crime, not in archiving the messaging channels regulators have actually been fining.

In the NICE Actimize public press releases and named customer materials we reviewed for 2025 and 2026, the named wins are anti-money-laundering and fraud: KeyBank on X-Sight (June 2025), Aberdeen Group on X-Sight SAM and Watch List Screening (July 2025), Associated Bank financial-crime case study (November 2025). We did not find named ARCHIVE-X or NICE Capture customer-win press releases in that window. The wins are real; they sit on a different surface of the platform.

Comma is purpose-built for that other lane: WhatsApp, Signal, iMessage, and the broader set of channels where SEC and FINRA enforcement actions have concentrated since 2021. The archive is the product, not an extension to a financial-crime stack.

Mobile and OTT Capture Is Partner-Fed

NICE Actimize’s modern consumer-messaging coverage runs through partners, not native capture:

Comma captures WhatsApp, Signal, and iMessage natively on the numbers employees and clients use today. No second business number, no separate app on every device, no carrier-specific integration to maintain.

Modular Pricing, Multi-Month Implementations

NICE Actimize sells NICE Capture (formerly NTR-X), ARCHIVE-X (archive), and SURVEIL-X (surveillance) as separate products. Total cost scales with the modules a firm needs, the channels covered, the user count, and the services lift to implement. Pricing is not publicly listed; deals are enterprise contracts with professional-services components. Independent pricing analysts and public user-review sites peg first-year licensing plus implementation in a six-to-seven-figure range, and user reviews describe deployment timelines of six months to over a year.

Comma Compliance is $33/user/month. All channels. No per-connector fees. No storage overages. No export fees.

What changed for NICE Actimize in 2026

NICE has positioned NICE Capture on Microsoft Azure as the recording layer of the broader Compliancentral platform. The 2026 NICE + Microsoft solution brief is Teams-centric: its named tier-one case study describes the bank capturing 100% of Teams interactions, including voice, chat, and more.

If your compliance exposure is anchored in Microsoft Teams, NICE Capture + Compliancentral on Azure is a coherent stack. If your exposure is in WhatsApp, Signal, and iMessage, you need a platform purpose-built for mobile messaging.
